As much as it's great to see some of these bands from the 70's, 80's and 90's
I think some should just stop touring...
You may be more right about that than you realize. His last tour, 2011?, he'd said that was it no more touring. Leads one to suspect that touring at his age 5 years after his "Farewell Tour"...it could very easily be due to him needing money.
Imagine Psychologically what it must be like. For almost
40 years you've had to sing the same 2 songs as many times as he has, his entire identity has been the "
Paradise by the dashboard light" call & response-type deal (Female & him alternating vocals) which yeah the song was interesting, a part of many people's young years when they were trying to get with a girl for the first time....
....1977....but what would it be like to be out there at 68 years old after having sung that song as many times as you have over the course of 39 years?
Just makes me feel kinda sad for the guy really....but if this tour wasn't due to Financial challenges causing him to have to go out and tour again at damn near 70 then....thats less bad.
I personally don't get what the massive deal was about this guy and his 2 hit songs. The songs were OK but the level they propelled this guy to, stardom-wise and still being able to sell show tickets at 68....I just don't understand it myself.
